YuGiOh God Card
"The heavens twist and thunder roars, signalling the coming of this ancient creature, and the dawn of true power."
Slifer the Sky Dragon is a foil God Card from the card trading game YuGiOh (Yu-Gi-Oh). The Slifer card is rare and highly collectible with enthusiasts paying considerable amounts of money for it.
Slifer is an American YuGiOh card with an ID of GBI-001. The card appeared in the Japanese Gameboy Advance cartridge and in episode #66 of the Yu-Gi-Oh! series. Slifer was once in the possession of Marik but is now owned by Yugi.
The Japanese name for Slifer is "Osirisu no Tenkuryu" which translates literally as "Osiris the Heaven Dragon". This card is one of the three Egyptian God Cards, each of which represents two opposites. Slifer represents "goodness" and "evil".
The God Cards are immensely powerful - Slifer has an attack and a defence value of X000 where X is the number of cards in your hand. In addition it has a special ability to reduce the power of any creature summoned by the opponent by 2000 points.
Although this card is extremely popular with collectors, it is not legal in most official Yu-Gi-Oh tournaments.
