The Winged Dragon of Ra - YuGiOh

God Card

"Spirits sing of a powerful creature that rules over all that is mystic."

The Winged Dragon of Ra is a foil God Card from the card trading game YuGiOh (Yu-Gi-Oh). This is a rare card and is highly collectible with enthusiasts paying considerable amounts of money for it.

Ra is an American YuGiOh card with an ID of GBI-003. The card appeared in the Japanese Gameboy Advance cartridge and in various episodes of the Yu-Gi-Oh! series. It was used by Yami Bakura and Marik against Yami Marik in the Battle City Finals.

The Japanese name for the Winged Dragon of Ra is "Ra no Yoku Shin Ryu" which translates literally as "Ra the Wingéd God-Dragon". This card is one of the three Egyptian God Cards, each of which represents two opposites. This card represents "heaven" and "earth". The orignal Ra was an Egyptian sun god.

The God Cards are immensely powerful. The Winged Dragon of Ra has no effects printed on the card itself, however generally accepted speial abilities include:

  • Ra's ATK and DEF are the sum of the ATK and DEF of the cards used to summon it
  • Ra can attack in the same turn it is summoned
  • Ra is immune to the effects of the other Egyptian God cards

Although this card is extremely popular with collectors, it is not legal in most official Yu-Gi-Oh tournaments.
